Luang Phor Kong of Wat Wang Sanpranot was a contemporary of the renowned monk Luang Pu Tim of Wat Lahanrai. Though younger, his expertise in mystical arts was unmatched. He participated in numerous major consecration ceremonies alongside other contemporary masters. His amulets are well-known for their charm, invincibility, and popularity.
Known as Phra Khru Akhom Wisut (Luang Phor Kong Suwanno) of Wat Wang Sanpranot, Khong District, Chanthaburi, he is one of the most famous monks in the eastern region, alongside Luang Pu Toh of Wat Pradoochimplee, Luang Pu Kram of Wat Wangwa, Luang Phor Srinuan of Wat Kwian Hak, Luang Pu Tim of Wat Lahanrai, and Luang Phor Phrom of Wat Chongkhae.
Luang Phor Kong’s amulets are known for their effectiveness in various aspects and have followers nationwide, including royalty and high-ranking officials like Major General Prince Chaleumpol Dechakamporn, Admiral Sangad Chaloryu, and Police Major General M.R. Pong Sara Devakul.
Born on September 20, BE2445, in Trad Province, Luang Phor Kong was ordained twice, first in BE2466 at age 21 and again in BE2477 at age 32 at Wat Chomphurai, Trad, with Phra Athikan Phuk as his preceptor. He was given the monastic name “Suwanno.”
He studied dharma and mystical arts from his grandfather, Luang Khiri Khet, a master in invincibility, and other famous teachers like Luang Phor Mae of Wat Mab Phai, Luang Phor Um of Wat Satonoi, and many others. Luang Phor Kong also undertook pilgrimages throughout Thailand and neighboring countries like Burma and Cambodia to further his mystical knowledge, especially in tiger magic, a skill he was particularly renowned for.
After his pilgrimages, he became the abbot of Wat Wang Sanpranot in BE2492. Luang Phor Kong was often invited to participate in sacred ceremonies nationwide, known for his powerful consecrations and unique amulets featuring tiger images or closed-eye Buddhas, drawn by him.
His amulets are famous for their invincibility, charm, and protection, making them highly sought after by collectors. Luang Phor Kong was revered for his compassion, helping those in need without bias, and adhering strictly to monastic disciplines, earning him the title “Phra Khru Akhom Wisut,” meaning a monk with supreme mystical powers.
